Kickoff:
Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 5 pm - Welcome Reception

The Inaugural Sedona Conference on Developing Best Practices for Trade Secret Issues will be held on December 7-8, 2017 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. This will be a PowerPoint-free, marketing-free assembly of thought leaders in trade secrets law. We will have capacity for approximately 75 people (including faculty). Attendance is by invitation only to ensure a proper balance of participants, and is limited in size to ensure that we have an intimate environment for meaningful dialogue. See below for a detailed working agenda.

Co-chairs Victoria Cundiff of Paul Hastings and James Pooley of James Pooley A Professional Law Corporation and a distinguished faculty of judges, government officials, and counsel will lead the dialogue on topics highlighted by the May 2016 passage of the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA) and rising global concerns over trade secret security, including the identification of trade secrets, fact investigation, protective measures, damages and injunctions, and cross-border trade secret disputes. This program is being held in connection with the anticipated launch of a new Sedona Working Group on the same subject, which will form drafting teams with representation from all key stakeholders on trade secret issues that lend themselves to the consensus-based, non-partisan Sedona approach. The Sedona Conference would plan to form this new Working Group's leadership and membership out of those leaders in the field who actively participate and contribute to the dialogue at this conference.

We have obtained a favorable room rate of $259 per night, plus tax, on a block of rooms at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess for the evenings of December 6 and 7. This favorable room rate is available for three days preceding and three days following the nights of the room block, subject to availability of Fairmont standard rooms. Our room block expires on November 13, 2017, so please register soon while rooms are available. Complete hotel reservation details will be provided with your conference registration confirmation.

We hope to see you in Scottsdale!
