Bruce Hedin
Bruce is Principal Scientist at H5, where his areas of focus have been process design, sampling, and measurement. Prior to joining H5, Bruce worked at YY Technologies, a firm developing natural language processing software. He is a past coordinator of the Legal Track of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Text Retrieval Conference (“TREC”). Representative publications authored or co-authored by Dr. Hedin include “Toward a Meaningful E-Discovery Standard: On the Place of Measurement in an E-Discovery Standard,” DESI V Workshop, ICAIL (2013), “Measuring Effectiveness in the TREC Legal Track,” Current Challenges in Patent Information Retrieval (2011), and “Evaluation of Information Retrieval for E-Discovery,” Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Law (2010). He has served as a program committee member of both the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Law (ICAIL) and the Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM). Bruce received a B.A. from Cornell University and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1). |
